This Privacy Policy explains how information may be collected, used, shared and protected when you use Kurnex. This application is developed and published by Kurnex Tech.
1. Information We Collect
Kurnex allows you to record income, expenses, budgets, categories, notes, reminders and related personal finance information. By default, this information may be stored locally on your device.
If you choose to sign in with Google and use cloud backup or restore features, your Kurnex data may also be stored in cloud services provided by Firebase/Google. Cloud backup is used to help you back up and restore your Kurnex data across supported devices or app installations.
We collect or process information only when it is necessary to provide, maintain, secure and improve the application. The data may include:
- Account information: when you sign in with Google, we may process your name, email address, profile photo and Google/Firebase user identifier.
- Financial app data: income and expense records, budgets, categories, notes, reminders, recurring templates, report archive data and app settings that you create in Kurnex.
- Device information: device model, operating system version, device language, time zone and general technical information.
- Usage data: app interactions, features used, performance information and crash logs.
- Advertising data: ad impressions, clicks, engagement information and advertising identifiers.
- Purchase data: transaction status related to premium features, subscriptions or in-app purchases.
- Backup entitlement information: information required to determine whether cloud backup and restore features are available, such as backup trial status, backup entitlement status, device or installation-based entitlement identifiers and related timestamps.
We do not collect or store payment card numbers, bank account details or billing credentials. Payment processing is handled by Google Play where applicable.
2. Guest Mode and Google Sign-In
You can use Kurnex without signing in. In guest mode, your data is stored locally on your device and cloud backup or cloud restore features are not available.
If you sign in with Google, Kurnex may use Firebase Authentication to identify your account and Firebase/Google cloud services to store and restore your Kurnex backup data. Each Google account has its own separate cloud backup path. Data from one Google account is not intentionally mixed with data from another Google account.
When you switch accounts, Kurnex may ask whether you want to back up local data, restore cloud data, or leave the current data unchanged in order to reduce the risk of accidental data loss.
3. Cloud Backup and Restore
Cloud backup is optional and is used to help you protect and restore your Kurnex data. If enabled and available, cloud backup may include:
- Income and expense records
- Categories
- Notes and reminders
- Budget information
- App settings
- Recurring templates and report archive data
Premium status, demo counters, purchase entitlement, subscription entitlement and similar premium access information are not included in normal cloud backup and are not restored as part of normal user data backup.
Cloud backup and restore availability may depend on your account status, premium status, trial status or backup entitlement status. If cloud backup or restore is not available, your local app data may continue to work on your device, but cloud backup or cloud restore actions may be locked or unavailable.
4. Advertising
Kurnex may display advertisements provided by third-party advertising services such as Google AdMob.
Advertising partners may collect or process information such as device identifiers, usage information, ad impressions, clicks and engagement data. These services may use cookies or similar technologies where applicable to provide personalized or non-personalized advertisements and measure ad performance.
Users can manage advertising preferences from their device settings, including resetting or limiting the advertising identifier where supported.
5. In-App Purchases and Premium Features
The application may offer premium features through in-app purchases, subscriptions or other premium access options.
We do not collect or store payment card numbers, bank details or billing credentials. Payment, refund, cancellation and subscription management may be handled by Google Play or another applicable platform provider.
Premium access, trial status and purchase entitlement are kept separate from normal Kurnex finance backup data. Restoring a Kurnex cloud backup does not restore or extend Premium access.
6. Notifications and Reminders
Kurnex may use notification permissions to provide payment reminders, note reminders, quick access notifications and daily add-expense reminders. Reminder information may be stored locally on your device and, if cloud backup is enabled, relevant reminder data may be included in your cloud backup.
You can disable notification permissions at any time from your device settings or disable supported notification features inside the application where available.
7. How We Use Information
Collected or processed information may be used to:
- Provide and maintain the application
- Allow optional Google sign-in
- Provide optional cloud backup and restore features
- Separate user data between different Google accounts
- Improve app performance and stability
- Understand how users interact with the application
- Show and measure advertisements
- Verify premium feature access, purchase status or backup entitlement
- Prevent misuse, accidental data loss and unauthorized access
- Comply with legal and platform requirements
8. Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent user data. Limited data may be processed by service providers required for app functionality, advertising, analytics, payment processing, authentication, cloud storage, security or legal compliance.
These service providers may include Google services such as Google Sign-In, Firebase Authentication, Firebase/Cloud Firestore, Google AdMob and Google Play Billing where applicable.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
Data stored locally on your device can be deleted by clearing the app data from your device settings or uninstalling the application.
If you use Google sign-in and cloud backup, your cloud backup data may remain stored in Firebase/Google cloud services until you delete it or request deletion. Kurnex provides an option in the profile area to delete cloud backup data where available.
You may request deletion of cloud backup data or account-related data by contacting us using the email address below. We may need information that allows us to verify and locate the relevant account or backup data.
Data processed by third-party services may be retained according to the privacy policies and retention practices of those service providers.
10. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, disclosure or alteration. Data transmitted to third-party services such as Firebase or Google services is generally protected using standard security measures provided by those services.
However, no electronic storage or transmission method is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your device, Google account and app access secure.
11. User Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable data protection laws, including the right to request access, correction, deletion or restriction of certain data. To make a request, contact us using the email address below.
You can also control certain data directly in the app, such as deleting local records, disabling notifications, signing out from Google, or deleting cloud backup data where the option is available.
12. Children’s Privacy
Kurnex is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
